Notice we need, what happens if nobody’s home, why we never take a deposit, and how refunds are handled.
Last Updated September 2026
Our diagnostic fee is $95. It covers the trip, the testing and a written price for the repair. It is credited against the cost of the work whenever you go ahead, there is no expiration on it. Get the diagnosis today and book the repair in two months and the $95 still comes off.
And if we miss your two-hour arrival window, you don’t pay it at all. We call about thirty minutes before we arrive; if we can’t make the window, the diagnostic is on us.
The fee is earned once we have attended and diagnosed the fault. It is not refundable simply because you decide not to proceed you’ve received the diagnosis and a written price, which are yours to keep and to take elsewhere if you want a comparison.
If we genuinely cannot identify the fault, we’ll tell you what we ruled out and what we’d do next, and we won’t bill beyond the diagnostic fee.
We ask for 24 hours’ notice. A slot cancelled at short notice usually can’t be refilled.
If nobody is home when we arrive inside the agreed window, or we can’t safely get to the work area, the $95 diagnostic is payable. We made the trip.
Not on panel upgrades, not on rewires, not on generators, not on anything. You pay when the work is finished.
That means there is no deposit to argue about if a job is cancelled or doesn’t go ahead, and nothing of yours is sitting in our account. Plenty of contractors ask for money before they start; we don’t.
If we have to reschedule: a job overrunning, weather that makes the work unsafe, or an illness we’ll call you as early as we can and re-book at your convenience. Any deposit is fully refundable if we cancel and can’t reschedule to suit you.
If you’re not satisfied with work we’ve completed, call us first. Most problems are put right on a return visit under our workmanship warranty, and we’d much rather fix it than argue about it. Where a refund is appropriate, we’ll process it to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
Where a job needs a permit, the fee is inside the price we quote you rather than added afterwards. Coordinating the disconnect and reconnect with Alabama Power on a service rebuild is included too.
If a job is cancelled after a permit has already been pulled and paid for on your behalf, that fee is not recoverable by us and will be invoiced to you at cost. We will always tell you before we pull a permit.
