How Affirm financing works, what it costs you on top of our quote, and why we earn nothing from it.
Last Updated September 2026
Financing offered in connection with our work is provided by Affirm, an independent third-party lender, through our invoicing system. J.B. Electric does not lend money, does not make credit decisions, does not set rates or terms, and does not service loans.
All financing is subject to credit approval by the lender. Not all applicants will qualify. Approval, the amount you may borrow, your rate and your term are determined by the lender based on your credit profile.
Annual percentage rates and repayment terms are set by Affirm, vary by applicant, and are disclosed to you by Affirm in full before you accept anything. We do not quote Affirm’s rates because we do not set them.

Subject to credit check and approval. Down payment may be required. For purchases under $100, limited payment options are available. Affirm loans are made by Cross River Bank, a New Jersey State Chartered Commercial Bank, Member FDIC.
Read Affirm’s agreement in full before accepting it. It is a contract between you and Affirm, not between you and us.
Pre-qualification is generally a soft credit inquiry that does not affect your credit score. Proceeding with a full application may result in a hard inquiry, which can. The lender will tell you which is which before you proceed.
This matters, so we would rather be blunt about it. Our price does not change we are paid the quoted amount either way, and we add nothing for financing and discount nothing for cash.
But Affirm charges you for the credit. Their fee and interest are added on top of our quote, so the total you repay Affirm will be more than the number on our invoice. Affirm shows you that total before you accept. Read it.
Financing is an option, never a requirement, and nobody here will push you toward it.
We receive no commission, referral fee or merchant discount from Affirm. We are paid the amount we quoted you, and that is the whole of our interest in it. We offer Affirm because panel work, service rebuilds and generators are large enough that spreading the cost genuinely helps some people — not because it earns us anything.
Questions about your loan payments, balances, statements, & hardship go to the lender directly, using the contact details in your loan agreement. Questions about the electrical work itself come to us.
